Welcome to Pulse!

Pulse is a civic engagement platform connecting citizens to their elected representatives, campaigns & other government officials. We are excited you are using our platform to communicate your stances on political issues. We hope that through our service, you can engage with the political process and make your voice heard.

Scope of Terms of Service

These terms of service constitute a legally binding agreement (the “Agreement”) between you and Pulse Voter Inc. (“Pulse,” “we,” “us” or “our”) governing your use of the Pulse website, application and technology platform (collectively, the “Pulse Platform”). The Pulse Reps Dashboard (collectively, the “Pulse Reps Dashboard”) is a platform for elected government officials and campaign staff (collectively, “Pulse Reps”), to view and engage with Users.

By entering into to this Agreement, and/or by using or accessing the Pulse platform you expressly acknowledge that you understand this Agreement and accept all of its terms. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT, YOU MAY NOT USE OR ACCESS THE PULSE PLATFORM.

1. The Pulse Platform

Pulse provides a digital platform where persons who seek to take a stand on political issues, communicate with their elected leaders or Congressional campaigns and communicate with other voters in the United States can speak up. Citizens and users of the platform are collectively referred to herein as “Users.”

Pulse Reps have permissions through the Pulse Reps Dashboard to view data collected on the Pulse platform to better understand how Users feel on individual issues and better interact with Users in a political or campaigning context.

As a User, you authorize Pulse to match you with your legislator (defined as any government elected official) or nearby campaign based on your geographic location. You additionally authorise Pulse Reps to view and use information collected on you, including but not limited to: first name, last name, zip code & email address.

Further, you consent to Pulse verifying your voter registration status by cross-referencing your first name, last name & zip code to the Voter Roll to ensure you are a registered voter within your specific geographic region. This is to ensure no bots or fake accounts are on the platform. Pulse Reps will be able to reference this merged information in order to understand how different demographic, age and gender groups stand on issues within their geographic domain.

2. Registration

We invite you to register for Pulse using your email address, phone number, Facebook log-in or Google log-in. If you do not register, you may not be able to use all of the features of Pulse. If you register, you agree to provide true, accurate, and complete information about yourself. You also agree to update registration information, as well as your Facebook and other third-party service profiles, and to maintain their truth, accuracy, and completeness. When you register, you consent to providing Pulse with your first name, last name, zipcode, email & stances on issues you vote on through the platform.

Children's PrivacyPulse is intended solely for users who are sixteen (16) years old (or older), and any registration by, use of, or access to Pulse by, anyone under thirteen is unauthorized, unlicensed, and in violation of these Terms. By using the Pulse Platform you represent and warrant that you are thirteen or older and that you agree to abide by all of the terms and conditions of these Terms. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, any information we receive from users we believe to be under the age of 16 will be purged from our database.

Using Other Accounts You may never use another user's account without permission. You are solely responsible for the activity that occurs on your account, and you must keep your account password secure. We encourage you to use "strong" passwords (passwords that use a combination of pper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols) with your account. You must notify Pulse at contact@pulsevoter.com immediately in the event of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account. Pulse Voter Inc. will not be liable for any losses caused by any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Pulse Communications

Pulse will communicate upcoming votes or information pertaining to the platform in order to enhance the User experience.

By entering into this Agreement or using the Platform, you agree to receive communications from us, including via e-mail, text message, calls, and push notifications. You agree that texts, calls or prerecorded messages may be generated by automatic telephone dialing systems.

By entering into this Agreement or using the Platform, you also agree to receive communications from Congressional campaigns, candidates, political parties, advocacy groups, and elected officials via e-mail, text message, or calls.

Standard text messaging charges applied by your cell phone carrier will apply to text messages we send.

IF YOU WISH TO OPT OUT OF PROMOTIONAL OR REMINDER EMAILS, YOU CAN UNSUBSCRIBE FROM OUR EMAIL LIST BY FOLLOWING THE UNSUBSCRIBE OPTIONS IN THE EMAIL ITSELF. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO CONSENT TO RECEIVE PROMOTIONAL TEXTS OR CALLS AS A CONDITION OF USING THE PULSE PLATFORM OR THE SERVICES.

How We Share the Information We Collect

A. Sharing Between Users and Pulse Reps

Users and Pulse Reps that have been matched are able to see information about each other, such as name, location, stances on political issues, and any information they have added to their Profiles.

Users: Users are able to view basic information about the Pulse Rep they have been connected with including, name, party affiliation and other publicly-available information.Pulse Reps: Pulse Reps are able to view Users first name, last name, email or phone number, stances on issues through the site, home address, political party affiliation, gender, date of birth & ethnicity. After a User registers for the site, information from the voter roll is merged with Pulse platform information collected to provide Pulse Reps with the most accurate information to represent and communicate with Users.

B. Sharing Between Users and Third-Parties

API and Integration Partners: If you connect to the Pulse Platform through an integration with a third party service, we may share information about your use of the Pulse Platform with that third party. We may share your information with our third party partners in order to receive additional information about you. We may also share your information with third party partners to push content that may be of interest to you.

Third Parties: You also authorize Pulse to share your anonymized information & stances on political issues with third parties, including but not limited to, political parties, advocacy groups or service providers.

Representations, Warranties or Endorsements

The Content and Materials provided on the Pulse Platform or in email messages are gathered from a variety of sources and are intended solely as general information. Inclusion of any Content or Materials on Pulse does not constitute or indicate Pulse Voter Inc.’s endorsement, representation or warranty of such information. Through the website (including Materials, Content, and emails), you may receive access to individuals or entities; however, your choice to contact or deal with any of these individuals or entities is your sole responsibility and Pulse Voter Inc.is not involved in any transactions or dealings you have with any third parties.

Further, Pulse Voter Inc. does not endorse any political party, advocacy group or third-party entity. Pulse is a non-partisan platform designed for all elected officials, campaigns and government leaders. Pulse Reps partner’s do not represent an endorsement of their campaign, position or political stances..

Termination

Pulse Voter Inc. reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to immediately, with or without notice, suspend or terminate your registration, the Terms, and your access to all or a portion of Pulse and remove any registration information or Materials from Pulse, for any reason (including if you breach of any of the provisions of the Terms). Upon termination or expiration of the Terms, your obligations and Pulse Voter Inc. rights and disclaimers survive, but your right to use Pulse immediately ceases.

Other

Data Security. We are committed to protecting the data of the Pulse community. Even though we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no security measures can be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your data.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy. We may make changes to this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any material changes, we will let you know through the Pulse Platform, by email, or other communication. We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy periodically to stay up-to-date about our privacy practices. As long as you use the Pulse Platform, you are agreeing to this Terms of Service & Privacy Policy and any updates we make to it.
